How to Get There from Coban
Don Jeronimo's is located 1 km. before the Rey Marcos Cave in Aldea Santa Cecilia,
so from Coban and San Juan Chamelco, just follow the signs to Gruta Rey Marcos. Don J's is on the left 100 meters after the green Iglesia Nazareno Las Cruces in Aldea Santa Cecilia.
In Guatemala City take the bus to Coban, Alta Verapaz from Transportes Escobar, 8 Avenida 15-16 Zona 1 (buses leave hourly; cost Q65; it’s a 4-hour ride). In Coban, take a bus to San Juan Chamelco from the Wasen Bridge, Diagonal 15, Zona 7 (buses leave every half-hour; cost Q3; it’s a 20-minute ride). In Chamelco take a minivan to Aldea Chajaneb or Santa Cecilia from right next to where the Coban minivan let you off behind the Chamelco market (minivans leave irregularly all day long; cost Q2; it’s a 15-minute ride). Ask the driver to let you off at Don Jeronimo’s. OR, take a taxi from Coban all the way to Don Jeronimo’s in Aldea Santa Cecilia 5 kms from San Juan Chamelco (cost Q80; it’s a half-hour ride). Tell the driver it is located 1 km before Gruta Rey Marcos.
